Hello My Name Is...
Mary Jones

I began teaching at Watauga when my twin girls started kindergarten. They are Seniors at APSU this year. I also have a son who is a UTC graduate and currently lives in Chattanooga with his wife, Lily. Before moving to my husband's hometown in Robertson County, I taught in Putnam County as well as Wilson County. I spent my Middle and High School years in East Tennessee where my parents were raised. I attended William Blount High School and graduated from Hiwassee College and Tennessee Tech University. Though my teen years were spent on the family farm, I was quite the transient student while in elementary school. My family moved often and I attended 7 schools while in grades K-5. Though I wouldn't trade my life experiences, I think that has made me appreciate the opportunity my family has had to stay in one community for my 3 kids to grow and go to school. However, I also understand the circumstances that make that impossible for some of our students. I take the time I have to spend with your children very seriously, and look forward to working with families to make the most of our students' education.
